Invitation to The Technoliday Party

by pcorbett on November 7th, 2007

While this isn’t an “iStrategyLabs Sponsored Event”, I felt it’s important to post an invitation here for the The Technoliday Party that I’ll be co-hosting. Details are here:

The Technoliday Party – a holiday event focused on celebrating the broader tech/creative/startup community with the intention of raising funds for the One Laptop Per Child Foundation.

The event will take place on 12.6.07 from 7pm to 9pm at Lotus Lounge at 1420 K Street NW, Washington DC and will feature an open bar and sushi.

Please RSVP here: http://technoliday.eventbrite.com/

For every $200 we raise, we’ll be funding the purchase of a laptop for a child. Half of these laptops will be distributed in 3rd world countries via One Laptop Per Child, while the other half will be distributed in the greater DC area via Greater DC Cares and their network of worthy community organizations.

Dude… I think the idea of donating the money from the party to OLPC is AWESOME but most of what I read was that they were only going to be selling a limited supply of the XOs to the public and for a limited time. You may wanna check that the laptops won't be sold out by the time the holiday party is done.

I know I know. The window of opportunity is going to close quickly, so I'm hoping folks will setup and not wait to last minute!
